Wir möchten Euch für Eure Unterstützung und Euren Besuch beim
unlimited-festival danken. Auch wenn einiges kontroversiell diskutiert
wurde (was klarerweise in unserem Sinne ist), bleibt ein durchaus
positiver Eindruck hängen. Danke!
Exquisit im intimen Rahmen unseres Lieblingscafés präsentieren wir das
neue Projekt eines Musikers, der beim unlimited mit einem lupenreinen
Singer-Songwriter-Bluesprojekt reüssieren konnte: Michael Zerang und
seine hochkarätig besetzte Formation "The Blue Lights".

Auf eine reichhaltige musikalische Geschichte kann Bandleader Michael
Zerang heute zurückblicken. In Brötzmanns Chicago Tentet, im Duo Ask the
Sun mit Hamid Drake, in Joe McPhee´s Survival Unit III und in zahllosen
eigenen Ensembles prägte er den Ruf Chicagos als Brennpunkt des
zeitgenössischen Jazz mit.
Sein brandneues Quintett The Blue Lights präsentiert neben den
langjährigen Partnern Dave Rempis und Kent Kessler auch zwei der
aufregendsten Namen der jüngeren Szene: den Saxofonisten John Dikeman
und Trompeter Emil Strandberg.
Das Debut-Album der Blue Lights „Songs From The Big Book Of Love“ wurd
vor gut einem Jahr in Chicago aufgenommen. Es überrascht mit sorgfältig
auskomponierten Titeln und groovigen, melodisch attraktiven
Ensembleparts, über die die beiden Bläser schon mal ordentlich exaltiert
und zügellos drüberbügeln, wie man hierzulande zu sagen pflegt.
